Valentines for Africa?

In 1994, nearly 1 million people in Rwanda were slaughtered in 100 days. Carl Wilkens, at the time serving in his position as director of the Adventist Development and Relief Agency [ADRA] in Rwanda, was the only American who chose to remain in Rwanda after the genocide began. His choice to stay and try to help resulted in preventing the massacre of hundreds of children. Please make your plans now to join us THIS SATURDAY February 13 @ 11am in Toledo First Church [click here for a map and directions] to hear Carl share the courage and resilience of the people he witnessed facing unimaginable choices. You do not have to be a member of Toledo First to participate.

Clearly led by God, Carl and Teresa Wilkens live an inspiring story of compassion, courage, and commitment. With their incredible achievements, they are a continuing model of paying the costs of discipleship and living large lives. Against all odds, the Wilkens' maintained their loving spirits in the face of death, extreme pain and hardships daily. We were blessed to have them in our midst.

Thanks to Pastors Mike and Rachel for inviting them to Valentines Toledo where Carl and Theresa shared their abundantly loving hearts and talents with us.

Also, Kudos to team Mindy and Rileys for a very well done and elegant dinner! Another GREAT EVENT at Toledo First for sure!
